Harry and Meghan confirm new titles for their kids as they announce Princess Lilibet's secret christening
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have confirmed their 21-month-old daughter was secretly christened in Los Angeles last week.
However, the bigger revelation is the couple have accepted titles for their two kids Archie, three, and Lilibet – using the title "princess" publicly for the first time.
"I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor," a spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed to 9Honey.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the news to multiple UK media outlets, saying the royal website "will now be updated in due course" to reflect these titles.
The christening was initially reported by People magazine, who said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "extended an invite to King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton, but they were not in attendance".

The intimate ceremony was attended by 20-30 people according to the US publication, including Meghan's mum Doria Ragland and actor Tyler Perry.
Perry, who loaned the Sussexes his LA mansion when they first moved to town, revealed in the couple's Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, that he is Lili's godfather.

He said the couple sounded unusually serious during one of their regular calls, so he asked them "Okay, what's going on?"
"They said, 'Well, we'd like for you to be Lili's godfather'. I go, 'Whoa'," Perry recalled.
"I had to take a minute to take that in."
Lili's unnamed godmother was also at the event, which took place at their Montecito home.

Similarly, Lilibet's first birthday celebration was an intimate gathering in their UK home of Frogmore Cottage last June during Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Upon the Queen's death, with King Charles III's accession to the throne, Archie and Lilibet were entitled to take on the titles of prince and princess as grandchildren of the monarch, as set out in the 1917 Letters Patent issued by King George V.
However, when the royal website's line of succession was updated in September, they kept the kids' titles as "master" and "miss", raising questions over whether Archie and Lilibet would take on their new titles at all.
This is still how they are styled on the royal website, even today, as they sit at number six and seven in-line-to-the-throne but aides have confirmed the changes will flow through shortly.

Before Archie's birth the couple had reportedly turned down the courtesy title of Earl of Dumbarton the youngster could have had, opting for him to be "master" instead of "earl".
"They didn't like the idea of Archie being called the Earl of Dumbarton because it began with the word 'dumb' [and] they were worried about how that might look," a royal source told The Telegraph.
However, in their interview with Oprah, the couple said they were told their son wouldn't get to be called a title due to protocol.

"They didn't want him to be a prince . . . which would be different from protocol, and that he wasn't going to receive security," Meghan told Oprah.
The Letters Patent sets out guidelines that have meant for generations, only children and grandchildren of the monarch are entitled to take on titles, followed by those in direct line to the throne.
