Oprah Winfrey weighs in on whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should attend coronation
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are yet to reveal if they'll be attending King Charles III's coronation in May.
The couple confirmed they received an invite to the historic event despite slamming the monarchy in recent months, across their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and the Duke of Sussex's memoir Spare.
Now, long-time friend and neighbour Oprah Winfrey has given her advice to the couple on whether or not they should attend.

During a book club appearance on CBS Mornings, Winfrey's best friend, Gayle King, asked her to share her thoughts on the matter.

"I think they should do what they feel is best for them and their family. That's what I think," Winfrey advised.
"That's what the bottom line comes down to. What do you feel like is the right thing for you?"

The TV doyenne went on to clarify the couple "haven't asked me my opinion".
Winfrey's comments come just over two years after her interview with the couple aired in March 2021.
It marked their first interview after leaving their senior working roles in the royal family in March 2020.

The comments also come on the third anniversary of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's last public engagement in their royal roles.
They attended the Commonwealth Day Service on March 9, 2020 before heading to North America, where they eventually settled next door to Winfrey in Montecito, California.
