Crown Prince Christian has again stepped in for King Frederik and acted as regent while his father was on a private trip last week ahead of the royal couple's upcoming overseas tour.

The visit will also highlight the current challenges the two countries face on the world stage.

The royal couple is then due to visit France from March 31 to April 2, before King Frederik undertakes a solo visit to Japan from April 23 to 25 to attend Expo 2025.
