Dismal ratings could spell doom for future of Meghan's TV career

The fate of Meghan's much-criticised lifestyle show is quickly becoming the worst kept secret in the entertainment industry and now that the ratings have been released, the series is likely to be cancelled.

The Duchess of Sussex has starred in two seasons of With Love, Meghan, and a Christmas special, which premiered on Netflix last year.

No decision has been made whether it will return for a third season – but it's not looking good for the duchess.

The show is not expected to be renewed after ratings dropped off after the release of season one in March.

Now, Netflix has released the figures for the second half of 2025 which included the ratings for the second season of the show, which came in August, and the Christmas special in December.

Season two of With Love, Meghan failed to reach Netflix's top 1,000 shows and was the 1,224th most-watched program on the streamer between July and December 2025, according to its Engagement Report.

That season had two million views since its release on August 25 with a total of 9.7 million hours viewed.

The Christmas special – With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration – fared slightly better, however it was a one-off, hour-long episode. The show ranked 1,022 and had 2.4 million views and 2.3 million hours viewed.

This publication described the special as the "most un-Christmassy show possible", a sentiment echoed by other news outlets.

In comparison season one debuted in Netflix's Global Top 10 TV list and reached the Top 10 in 24 countries, including Australia.

But it failed to break into the streaming giant's top 300 shows for the first half of the year, with just 5.3 million views.

While no official comment has been made by Netflix as yet, sources have told Page Six the series has been cancelled.

"It's not returning as a series," the source said.

"There have been conversations about holiday specials, but there's nothing in the works yet."

The duchess has now reportedly pitched other specials, including one for Valentine's Day (February 14) and Independence Day in the US (July 4).

No announcement has been made on either.

Meghan is expected to focus on her social media presence this year, the source said.

"People will see similar cooking and crafting on Meghan's socials for the brand, but more bite-sized."

When asked on stage in Washington D.C. recently about whether there would be a third season of her show, Meghan refused to directly answer.

"It's a lot of work, and having done Suits for seven years, I remembered what goes into a production," the duchess said in October.

"I also recognise how much people want content in different sizes."

The duchess said her and Prince Harry's renewed contract with Netflix – a watered-down version of their original known as a "first look" arrangement – was "exciting".

"It gives us flexibility to go to our partners first," Meghan said.

"And then at the same time be able to shop content that might not be the right fit for Netflix but has a home somewhere else."

Earlier this month, Meghan returned to Instagram for the first time this year sharing a previously unseen photo from her first holiday to Africa with Prince Harry.

The post was part of the trend of sharing content from 2016 and it included a recent clip filmed by their daughter, Princess Lilibet, taken in the grounds of their Montecito home.
