New details emerge about how Meghan set up secret meetings in Canada

The Duchess of Sussex is keeping busy in Canada while Prince Harry works to negotiate their exit as senior members of the royal family.

New details have emerged about Meghan's secret visit to two organisations in Vancouver, working to better prospects for women.

Meghan, 38, dropped in to the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre to discuss "issues affecting women in the community".

It was the first time the duchess had been spotted since she and Harry announced plans to become financially independent from the British monarchy.

The meeting had reportedly been set up by Meghan's unnamed assistant and not a royal aide, reports the Mail Online.

The publication claims Kate Gibson, the boss of the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre, received a "mysterious" email from a Hotmail account asking if the Duchess of Sussex could visit.

The Facebook page for the centre shared a photo on Wednesday, with Meghan in the centre of a group of employees.

"Look who we had tea with today!" the caption read.

The former actress is an avid feminist and advocate for women's rights and has done a lot of work in support of disadvantaged women, even before marrying Prince Harry.

Later that day, Meghan made another appearance – this time at the Vancouver-based social justice charity Justice For Girls.

"The duchess put everyone at ease and had a really engaged discussion with us for 90 minutes about our work and the rights of teenage girls who live in poverty," the charity's co-director Zoe Craig-Sparrow told The Telegraph.

"The duchess inquired about the status of our work and what could be done to best support improvement in the lives and rights of girls in poverty.

"We were honoured that she chose to have this conversation with us and is interested in the work we do."

The group shared two photos on Twitter of Meghan enjoying a cuppa and conversation with members of its team.

Meanwhile in London, Prince Harry has attended what is being speculated as his last royal engagement for the near future.

He hosted the draws for the Rugby League World Cup 2021 at Buckingham Palace and showed no signs of the turmoil that's been going on behind the scenes.

According to The Telegraph, Harry was asked "how are the discussions going about your future?" by a reporter from the one of the British tabloids Harry accused of "bullying".

But instead of a furious stare or a rebuttal from a royal aide, Prince Harry "simply laughed out loud and walked on".
