The powerful statement behind Meghan's two new rings

The Duchess of Sussex has long used her jewels to convey hidden messages while also supporting brands that conform to her beliefs and make a statement.

Now, Meghan has worn two golden rings that help to save endangered wildlife.

She showed off the new additions to her $1million jewellery collection during a meeting at Windsor Castle with Prince Harry on Friday.

The Duchess hosted a roundtable discussion on gender equity with One Young World ambassadors and Queen's Commonwealth Trust young leaders.

As she was walking into the building Meghan's new rings were on full show, standing out from her Hugo Boss red leather pencil skirt and knitted blouse.

They are by Canadian brand Vargas Goteo, which aims to draw attention to the "conservation of poached, illegally traded and irresponsibly sourced wildlife," according to its website.

"To see my work out there and on such a remarkable woman really is a dream come true," Alex Prijic Smith, the brand's founder, told PEOPLE.

Money raised from the sale of its pieces help ocean and wildlife groups including anti-shark finning, manta ray conservation, coral reef restoration, anti-ivory poaching and anti-rhino poaching organisations.

Meghan wore the 18-carat yellow gold Manta Kiss ring, which retails for $874 AUD ($600 US) and supports the Manta Trust, a UK-based charity.

On another finger, Meghan wore the Bow Knot ring.

The designer admitted she didn't know when Meghan had bought the pieces, but she was happy to see them on such a high-profile personality.

"Meghan always exudes ease and elegance, refinement and a freshness in everything she steps out in — I loved what she wore," Smith said.

The Duchess and Prince Harry are big supporters of wildlife conservation. In 2017, while then Prince Harry's girlfriend, Meghan wore a piece of jewellery known as an 'Elephant Hair' bracelet. It was visible in a photo taken in Botswana when the couple visited the African nation to work with animal charity Elephants Without Borders.

During Meghan's recent tour of Africa, she wore a selection of relatively affordable accessories which all carried special messages, including one from a local brand that prides itself on equal pay for its female workers.
