Meghan heading on same 'trajectory' as Princess Diana says her former biographer
The Duchess of Sussex is heading down the same "trajectory" as Princess Diana, a royal author claims.
Andrew Morton - best known for his 1992 biography on Diana, Princess of Wales - says he can see similarities between how both royal women were treated by the public and the media.
"Meghan's gone from 'Duchess Dazzling' to 'Duchess Difficult,' exactly the same trajectory happened with Diana," Morton told Good Morning America.

"And both of them at the same time were struggling emotionally and mentally to cope with, first of all, being pregnant, but also with life inside this goldfish bowl of the royal family."
Morton has added several new chapters to his book Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, first released in 2018 to coincide with the royal wedding.
This "fully revised and updated edition", out now, is now shedding fresh light on the Duchess' time in and out of the royal family, drawing on "exclusive interviews with those closest to Meghan".
Morton told GMA that while the Duke and Duchess received enormous backlash from choosing to speak to Oprah Winfrey in March last year, it was Harry - and not Meghan - who pushed for the tell-all.
Diana, like Meghan, attracted her fair share of negative media attention. Getty
"Meghan Markle is blamed for Harry coming to Hollywood," Morton said.
"When ironically, it was Harry who was very keen to do an interview with Oprah.
"Sadly for Meghan, there's a narrative that's built up that's wholly negative towards her."
He believes Harry should have done more to help Meghan navigate her way in the early days of their relationship and marriage into the royal family.
"I think people think that she was more in control of their lives inside the royal family, when really the one who was the expert was Prince Harry," Morton said.
"So she has deferred to him and often got the blame for things that have gone wrong."
