The Duchess of Sussex is back in London following her star-studded baby shower in New York City.

Meghan, 37, was pictured leaving The Mark hotel in Manhattan clad in active wear but her journey home was much more glamourous than her low-key outfit.

The royal is said to have flown home in style; the eight-hour journey costing her nothing.

She reportedly hitched a ride on Amal Clooney's private jet, as the human rights lawyer was heading across the pond to London with her two children, one-year-old twins Alexander and Ella, reports The Sun.

The luxurious flight is believed to be worth around $230,00 AUD.

The publication quotes a source saying, "Amal was already flying back and covering all the costs so it made total sense.

"Amal was more than happy for Meghan to fly back with her and the kids.

"It's absolutely not the case that the taxpayers or the royal family paid for the cost of the jet."

"The flight didn't cost Meghan a thing."

Amal was one of the guests at Meghan's baby shower, held inside the Madison Avenue hotel.

She was seen walking into the hotel wearing a red jumpsuit.

Other guests included Oprah's close friend Gayle King, Meghan's long-time bestie Jessica Mulroney and her former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.

Details of the lavish baby shower have been largely kept under wraps but we have been given some hints on the decorations and gifts.

Bunches of roses – in pink, blue and orange – were delivered to the hotel, on New York's Upper East Side, while a three-in-one convertible crib arrived days before the baby shower kicked off.
