Meghan makes budget beauty confession in surprise appearance
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is renowned for her shiny tresses, but at one point in time she was just like the rest of us.
At the launch party of her close friend and hair colourist Kadi Lee's new Highbrow Hippie Haircare and Wellness line on Thursday (Friday AEDT), the royal revealed that she too had no option but to reach for the one thing hair colourists hate the most - boxed dye.
After Lee explained how her friendship with Meghan influenced the business and it's development, the royal quipped, "I was using boxed dye when I met her!", getting laughs from the audience.

It was revealed that during the pandemic, the royal had ordered her hair color online which would cost just a few dollars – no doubt resulting in a bathroom hair dye job many of us are familiar with.
The female-founded hair-care line is one of many ventures that the former actress backs as an investor.
Lee runs the Highbrow Hippie brand with her business partner, Myka Harris, with the pair releasing the hair care range to curb the root causes of hair loss and promote the healthy aging of hair.
Meghan wore a sleek black bustier two-piece with a sweetheart neckline, leaving her glossy tresses cascading over her shoulders and on show for the launch.
At the event, she could be seen embracing Lee as the entrepreneur cried from joy. In one picture, the Duchess of Sussex even planted a kiss on Lee's cheek.
The royal even presented her favourite hair colourist with a thoughtful gift – a bunch of roses from the garden of her Montecito, California home, which she shares with her husband, Prince Harry, 40, and their children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.

Lee is a stylist to the stars, counting the likes of Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Diane von Furstenberg, and Sex and the City's Kristin Davis as clients.
They too were on hand for the glitzy, royal-approved event.
