Meghan Markle dreamed of launching a cookbook before becoming a royal
The announcement that Meghan Markle’s first solo royal project would be the launch of a charity cookbook came as a pleasant surprise for fans.
However, it seems the idea wasn’t completely out of left field for our newly-minted Duchess of Sussex.
Once upon a time, before a friend set her up on a date with a certain ginger-haired British prince, Meghan, 37, had plans to launch a cookbook through her now-defunct lifestyle blog.

The Duchess wrote the foreword for the recipe collection - which will raise money for the community affected by the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy - and touched on her love of food.
“I have a lifelong interest in the story of food—where it comes from, why we embrace it, and how it brings us together: the universal connection to community through the breaking of bread,” she explained.
