Meghan delights locals as she makes surprise visit to Düsseldorf cafe
Meghan Markle has surprised patrons of a nonprofit community cafe in Germany, happily posing for photos and showing off her cooking skills in the kitchen.
Photos shared on Instagram by the charity Diakonie Düsseldorf Karriere, which runs the cafe, show the Duchess of Sussex casually dressed in a grey cable-knit jumper and pants.
The brief visit reportedly happened a week ago while Prince Harry and Meghan were in the city for the Invictus Games, which ran from September 9 to 16.

In one photo, shared on the cafe's feed, we see Meghan surrounded by patrons of the cafe, including children.
"What a special moment!" the translated caption reads.
"Duchess Meghan also visited our TrebeCafé during her stay in Düsseldorf on the occasion of the Invictus Games."

"It was a big surprise for our clients in the mother-child group when Meghan Markle suddenly appeared at the door," the caption continues.
"We announced a high-ranking guest, but the young women weren't expecting the Duchess."

They spoke of Meghan, 42, doing her best to put patrons at ease during the visit.
"The 42-year-old was quickly able to take away the women's initial shyness," the caption continued.
"The visitors to the TrebeCafé told the Duchess openly about their former life on the street, how they got to know the TrebeCafé and how they got their lives back under control with the support of the employees."
They reported the former actress lent a helping hand in the kitchen before leaving.
"Meghan took over the chopping of vegetables without further ado," they shared.
"In a relaxed atmosphere, the young women now had the opportunity to ask the Duchess everything they had always wanted to know about her."

Diakonie Düsseldorf Karriere supports women and girls who live on the streets, including through the cafe.
Meghan has long been a supported of organisations offering services to disadvantaged women and girls including since her time as an actress on Suits, during her stint working for the monarchy and now under the couple's independent organisation Archewell.
