Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made an illustrious and exclusive list, alongside the likes of The School Strikers, Jameela Jamil, Ariana Grande and Donald Trump.

Notably absent on Time Magazine's Most Influential People on the Internet list is Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were not among the 25 people selected for their contribution to the online sphere in the past year.

Meanwhile The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were singled out for the success of their Sussex Royal Instagram account, which broke records on the platform to reach one million followers in its first six hours.

"While baby photos are among @SussexRoyal’s draws, most posts are dedicated to the pair’s work as royals," the publication begins, explaining why the couple made the list.

"Each month, in an effort to highlight advocates and organisations focusing on issues such as climate change and mental health awareness, the account rotates the users it follows—a savvy strategy that has driven headlines.

"The Sussexes’ forward-thinking, cause-oriented approach to social media fits neatly with other ways they are establishing their identity beyond the crown."

This is the publication's fifth annual list, which takes into account the person's global impact on social media and their overall ability to drive news. Unlike other lists, this one is un-ranked.

Harry and Meghan made quite the statement when they unfollowed all members of The Royal Family in May and dedicated their account to just 13 charities, all of which highlighted Mental Health Awareness month.

Since then, they followed suit for Pride in June and July has been all about conservation.

In-keeping with that theme, the couple attended The Lion King European Premiere in aide of Protect The Pride and one of Prince Harry's yet-to-be announced charities.
