Meghan and Harry's flowers sent to hospices and charities after Royal Wedding

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding flowers have found new homes, after they were dismantled and sent to various hospices and women's refuges.

The official florist appointed by the couple for the Royal Wedding shared a photo, detailing what would happen to the gigantic floral arrangements which decorated the entrances to St George's Chapel, at Windsor Castle.

One of the recipients of the flowers was St Joseph's Hospice in London, which shared a beautiful photo of a resident holding one of the bouquets.

The post read, "Today we got a very special delivery. Beautiful bouquets made from the #royalwedding flowers which we gave to our patients. A big thank you to Harry and Meghan and florist Philippa Craddock. Our hospice smells and looks gorgeous. Such a lovely gesture".

The stunning displays included silver birch, English oak, branches of beech, hornbeam, white garden roses, peonies and foxgloves – sourced from the Crown Estate and Windsor.

The flowers which decorated the inside of the Chapel were left for another couple's nuptials, taking place just days after the Royal Wedding.

And in another touching display, the bouquet carried by the now Duchess of Sussex – which contained Princess Diana's favourite flower, the Forget-Me-Not – was placed at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior, in Westminster Abbey.

The tradition of Royal brides sending their bouquet to the Grave was started by the Queen Mother at her marriage to King George VI in memory of her brother Fergus, who was killed in 1915 during the First World War.

When the Duchess of Cambridge married Prince William in 2011, her bouquet was placed at the site.

With arguably the biggest job of her career now behind her, Harry and Meghan's florist Philippa Craddock has thanked the Royal couple for the opportunity.

"Wishing the incredible, beautiful (in every sense) couple so much love and happiness," she posted on Instagram.

"It has been the most wonderful experience, we are truly honoured, thank you xx."
