Lady Kitty Spencer opens up about her toddler daughter in rare interview

Lady Kitty Spencer, one of the late Princess Diana's nieces, has opened up about her baby daughter Athena in a rare interview.

Kitty, 34, joined twin sisters Eliza and Ameila, 32, for a Tatler interview, with the three sisters posing for a stunning cover.

The sisters are the children of Princess Diana's brother Earl Charles Spencer, who is Athena's grandfather. Athena is Kitty's first child with husband Michael Lewis.

Kitty described Athena as "very outdoorsy and like a spinning top".

"She certainly has two doting, laughing aunts, who say they are 'steering her in our direction'," she told the publication.

"She's very similar to the twins. It's so funny…. So cool for her when she has these two aunts that come bursting through the door.

"I don't think she thinks there's an age gap… So there's actually a triplet there for them.

"When the girls are on the phone and she doesn't want them to go, she pulls out her whole repertoire of tricks."

Kitty only shared the news of her daughter's arrival in March 2024.

Since then she has posted rare glimpses of the little girl on her social media accounts, ensuring her face is concealed each time.

She told Tatler Athena is a "little Taurus" who turns two in April. Taurus birth dates fall later in the month.

Kitty, a model and British aristocrat, said she's been doing "a lot less now that I've got my little girl".

She and husband Michael, 65, married in July 2021 at the Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati, Italy.

The nuptials were attended by royalty and British aristocracy as well as celebrity friends.

In a video showing highlights of 2024, Athena can be seen travelling with her mum and twin aunts.

In June she publicly shared her daughter's name alongside a black-and-white photo of mother and daughter alongside the caption: "Athena watching the world go by."

Kitty also posted a video for Mother's Day in the UK in March writing: "It's the joy of my life to be your mummy, little one. I love you unconditionally. Happy Mother's Day to those who celebrate today."
