King Charles III offers rare glimpse at private family photos during meeting with Canadian Prime Minister inside royal residence

Royal fans have received an ultra-rare glimpse at the inner workings of King Charles III's Norfolk home.

The monarch has been snapped in his home alongside a slew of family photos as he held two diplomatic meetings at Sandringham.

The royal shared an audience with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on his estate, hosting from inside Sandringham House's famed Saloon.

The room is adorned with luxury furnishings and personal touches. A wooden antique table sat between the two world leaders, with a majestic lamp and a potpourri dish atop.

The background showed a grand piano littered with heartwarming black-and-white family photos, including a portrait from the King and Queen's coronation in May 2023.

Resting nearby was a snap of the Princess Alexandra of Denmark with her sisters, Princess Dagmar and Princess Thyra.

Sandringham is a 13th-century stone building with an ornate wooden ceiling and stunning stained glass inside.

The beloved residence has been the private home of five generations of British monarchs for more than 160 years.

The estate, located in the northeast of England, holds a special place in the hearts of the British royal family.

It's where they celebrate Christmas each year, and it's where King George VI, Queen Elizabeth II's father, died – while then-Prince Charles and Princess Anne were staying there with their grandparents while then-Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip were in Kenya.

While the royals tend to descend on Sandringham during the winter months, in summer, Sandringham Castle is open to the public for a tour of the ground floor of the 1870 structure.

Charles chose to recuperate at Sandringham following his cancer diagnosis and treatment earlier last year.

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward explained that the royals spent so much time there because "it's an ideal place," both for its proximity to London and for privacy.

"None of them really liked living at Buckingham Palace; it was always just a sort of workplace," Seward previously told 9honey.
