Prince Andrew allowed to wear coronation robes despite no longer being a working royal
Prince Andrew wore coronation garter robes to King Charles III's coronation, a uniform traditionally only reserved for working members of the royal family.
The disgraced Duke of York, 63, arrived at Westminster Abbey wearing the navy mantle despite stepping down from his public role in 2020 – a move that has now raised eyebrows.
Prince Harry, who arrived at the coronation in a morning suit and not military regalia despite his years of service, was not granted this same concession.

Charles' decision to allow his brother Andrew to wear the lavish robes of the Order of the Garter was a surprise change to the proceedings, The Times reports.
Andrew's sartorial choice marks a significant change in the duke's royal presence after he officially resigned from his duties three years ago.
However, despite being allowed to wear the ceremonial robes, Andrew had no formal role in the coronation proceedings.

His name is not acknowledged within the official Order of Service and the duke will also be absent from the procession behind the Gold State Coach which carries the newly-crowned King and Queen to Buckingham Palace.
Andrew is also not expected to make an appearance on the royal balcony for the RAF flypast.
As both are non-working members of the royal family, neither Harry nor Andrew were allowed to wear military uniforms.
Harry and Andrew both arrived at Westminster Abbey at the same time, alongside Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, their husbands and Princess Anne.

Multiple reports claim Andrew was booed by crowds as he was driven down The Mall in a state car to Westminster Abbey for the coronation.
The Times reports the King has recently held several private audiences with Andrew in regards to his future within the royal family.
The publication claims Charles has "softened" on his stance on his brother after he and Prince William reportedly made an executive decision to keep Andrew out of the spotlight.
