King Charles arrives in Germany with Queen Consort Camilla for first overseas visit as monarch
King Charles has arrived in Germany for his delayed first overseas trip since becoming monarch after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
His Majesty arrived with wife Queen Consort Camilla on RAF Voyager, which flew into Berlin Brandenburg Airport on Wednesday flanked by a Eurofighter Typhoon jet escort.
Charles and Camilla quite literally had the red carpet rolled out for the start of their three-day visit.

This was lined by a guard of honour, featuring members of Germany's federal defence forces.
The royal couple were greeted by German officials on the tarmac and welcomed with a 21-gun salute, which took place as two military jets carried out a fly past.

King Charles and the Queen Consort then made their way to Brandenburg Gate for a historic full ceremonial welcome by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Büdenbender.
It marked the first time a head of state has been welcomed at the monument, next to Pariser Platz, instead of the president's official residence of Schloss Bellevue (aka Bellevue Palace).

After all the formalities were complete, the couple met with locals who lined the streets, some holding flags or wearing repurposed Burger King crowns.
They also met with pupils from local schools, members of the Royal British Legion, and British embassy staff and families before heading off to Bellevue Palace.
Once at the president's official residence, where Steinmeier will host a state banquet in their honour on Wednesday (Thursday AEDT), they signed the official guest book, known as the Golden Book.
They then met with members of the UK and German delegations.

On Thursday, the King is set to give a speech to the Bundestag, Germany's parliament, meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and talk to Ukrainian refugees and military.
Their Majesties will then travels to Hamburg on Friday, where they'll visit the Kindertransport memorial for Jewish children who fled from Germany to Britain during the Third Reich, and attend a green energy event before returning to the UK in the evening.
King Charles has made 28 official visits to Germany in the past, while the Queen Consort has made three official trips previously.

The couple's state visit to the country this time is a mission to strengthen ties with their European neighbours in the wake of Brexit.
"To him and obviously all Britons, I want to say that we in Germany, in Europe, wish for close and friendly relations with the United Kingdom even after Brexit," Steinmeier said in a video message ahead of the trip, according to Reuters.
King Charles and Camilla's overseas trip was originally set to begin in France on Sunday but the two-day visit to the country had to be cancelled at the last minute due to on-going unrest over the government's planned pension reforms.
