It's a day full of celebration at the Royal Hashemite Court today as not one, but two royals have a birthday.

Not only that, they are father and son!

King Abdullah II of Jordan and his youngest son Prince Hashem share the same birthday 43 years apart on January 30. The King turns 63 while his son turns 20.

The occasion was marked by a very special woman in their lives, Queen Rania, who took to Instagram to share tributes to them both.

In her post for her husband she shared a photo of the pair of them on an engagement. The Queen wore a bright yellow dress and heels while the King wore a navy suit. She wrote in the caption in Arabic, "Every year you are the dearest to our hearts" before adding in English, "Happy birthday! You mean the world to us ❤️".

Her photo with her youngest was a more casual one, with both the young prince and his mother sporting zip-up hoodies as she embraced him in a hug. "Happy birthday my dearest Hashem!" she wrote to him.

The official Instagram account of the Royal Hashemite Court also marked the occasion with another casual post of the father and son in matching T-shirts.

"The Royal Hashemite Court extends its warmest wishes to His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II on the occasion of their birthdays," they wrote.

In the photo, the 28-year-old royal can be seen wearing a hat with her baby bump protruding as she faces her husband, who is copying her stance looking at her with his hands behind his back.

This is not the first baby of the next generation of Jordanian royals, with that honour having gone to Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and his daughter Princess Iman who was born in August last year, named after his beloved younger sister.
