The Princess of Wales has chosen to wear a dress from another very special occasion in royal history for her public return at Trooping the Colour.

Catherine arrived at the event in a white Jenny Packham dress – a dress she last wore during the King's coronation weekend.

She completed the look with a white angled hat by Philip Treacy.

It is thought that by choosing a dress that was "last worn for such an important moment for the King, it is a nod of support and honour for the monarch on his official birthday", reports The Telegraph UK.

Catherine has completed the look with her Cassandra Goad Cavolfiore Pearl Stud Earrings, worn on several occasions including at Prince Louis' christening in 2008.

Both the Princess of Wales and King Charles are receiving outpatient treatment for cancer.

While Charles returned to public facing duties in April, this is Catherine's first public appearance since she shared the news in a video
