People are baffled by James Middleton's resemblance to King George V: 'Would someone please explain this?'

The internet has been thrown completely off after becoming aware of James Middleton's uncanny resemblance to the Queen's grandfather, King George V.

Putting their photos side-by-side, the likeness cannot be denied. The younger brother of the Duchess of Cambridge truly does look like the former King's long-lost twin — despite having no blood relation whatsoever.

While the royals often have their looks compared to their famous ancestors, in particular, Princess Beatrice and Queen Victoria or King George VI and Prince Edward, it's unusual to find a non-relation who holds such a likeness.

In recent years, the discovery has blown Twitter users away, with several people desperately tweeting comparison pictures, completely baffled by the situation.

"Every time i see anything about James Middleton (Mate middleton's younger brother), ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT is how much he looks like Tsar Nicholas II and therefore also King George V, aka kate's husband's great-great-grandfather. Here's George V on the left and James on the right," user @surrexi tweeted.

"Would someone please explain this similarity, or should I say doppelgänger situation between King George V and James Middleton!" another user wrote.

"I'm sorry but seeing as there is NO relation there, someone tell me why James Middleton looks like George V?!" another tweeted.

One Twitter user described James as "so Windsor-like".

There's not much explanation for how the two men hold such a striking resemblance, other than this being a peculiar doppelgänger situation.
