Household Cavalry talk to 9Honey about their important role in the Royal Wedding

All eyes will be on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they step out of St George’s Chapel on Saturday as husband and wife.
 
Although no-one will be paying closer attention to the newlyweds than soldiers from the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, who will guard the couple on their carriage ride around Windsor.
 
James, from the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment tells 9Honey, the soldiers are thrilled with their important role in the big day.

"The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment has two roles to play in the Royal Wedding," James says.
 
"We have the first attachment who are going to be the staircase party, so that'll be 24 soldiers on the steps of St George's Chapel waiting for the happy couple to leave.
 
"The second is attachment will be the mounted escort, who will pick them up as they get into their carriage, they will then be escorted by those soldiers down through Windsor and then back to Windsor Castle."

The Household Cavalry were also tasked with escorting Prince William and his new bride Kate Middleton on their carriage ride around London after their wedding in Westminster Abbey in 2011.
