Looks like Prince Harry is taking Meghan to a wedding for her birthday

When Meghan Markle celebrates her birthday today, Prince Harry will be whisking her away to somewhere very special indeed... his best friend's wedding.

The Duchess of Sussex turns 37 on August 4, which just so happens to be the day her husband's childhood friend Charlie van Straubenzee says "I do".

How extremely rude.

Royal photographer Tim Rooke noted on Twitter that Harry, 33, will be best man at Charlie's wedding to filmmaker Daisy Jenks, taking place in Churt, Surrey.

The pair have been chummy since their prep school days, with Charlie and his older brother Thomas - a close friend of Prince William's, and one of Princess Charlotte's godparents - said to have acted as ushers at Harry's wedding on May 19.

So, Meghan will be spending her birthday at the wedding alongside him.

It's a far cry from how the former Suits actress celebrated turning 36 last year - she and Harry were photographed en route to Africa, where they reportedly went on safari.

That said, there are worse ways to spend a birthday than at a society wedding in the English countryside.

Also, she might score one of those little gift bags of sugared almonds, which is not to be sniffed at.

2018 is shaping up to be a big year of weddings for the newlywed Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

In October they'll return to Windsor Castle - the very same chapel in which they exchanged vows, no less - to witness Princess Eugenie marry fiance Jack Brooksbank.

Given Meghan's close friend Priyanka Chopra also just got engaged to singer Nick Jonas, there'll surely be another invitation landing in the mailbox at Kensington Palace in the coming months.
