Samantha Markle disputes Meghan's claim they haven't seen each other for 19 years

Samantha Markle has disputed claims by the Duchess of Sussex they haven't seen each other for 19 years.

It was during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah that the duchess made the claim.

Samantha, 56, has used her graduation photo with Meghan as evidence, saying her degree "clearly shows 2008, which would make it almost 13 years since they've seen each other.

"My degree clearly shows 2008, and anybody who has a calculator or a functioning frontal lobe knows that was not 19 years ago," she told she said on Newstalk ZB radio.

"At her age I would think that she could do math but really the case is more deceit than inaccuracy."

Samantha has been an outspoken critic of her half-sister since before Harry and Meghan's royal wedding in 2018.

Speaking about Prince Harry latest work appointment as the Aspen Institute's new Commission on Information Disorder, Samantha said the royal is in "no position to join a company that deals in misinformation" until he "gets a grip on what the truth is".

She further claims the couple made several false claims during their tell-all interview with Oprah which aired on CBS on March 7, including claiming Samantha only changed her surname back to Markle after Harry and Meghan went public with their relationship.

The royals were also forced to clarify a claim they made about having gotten married privately, three days before their royal wedding.

Their own marriage certificate showed May 19 as the official date of their union, forcing them to explain the early ceremony was symbolic and not official.

Samantha's brother Thomas Markle Jr who is also Meghan's half-sibling has accused Samantha of being jealous of Meghan "from the very beginning" during a recent episode of E! True Hollywood Story.

"Samantha has a very bitter personality," he said during the episode. "I think she was very jealous of Meghan in the very beginning and still to this day."

Samantha Markle admitted responsibility for setting up staged paparazzi photos of their father Thomas Markle Sr before the royal wedding. During the fallout from the incident, Thomas suffered a heart attack and was unable to attend the wedding, leaving Prince Charles to walk Meghan down the aisle.

Since then, Meghan and her father became increasingly estranged.
