Harry and Meghan donate lunch to army veterans
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have donated lunch to army veterans for Martin Luther King Day on January 18.
Prince Harry has been a long-time supporter of veterans following his 10 years of service with the British army, during which he rose to the rank of Captain and participated in two tours of Afghanistan.
Harry and Meghan organised the meals through Homegirl Café, with the food delivered by an organisation called The Mission Continue.
The Mission Continue, which helps to support veterans adjusting to life at home, spoke of Harry and Meghan's contribution on Instagram.
"We'd like to send a huge thank you to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with Archewell Foundation, for fueling the volunteers of our LA Service Platoon with lunch yesterday, so they can continue their hard work at the Compton VFW and help those living in the Compton community! We're truly honoured to have their support!" they said.
They also shared a note sent to them by the couple, dated January 16, which read: "In honor of this day of service, and in recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and all that he stood for, we want to send our thanks and gratitude to the team at The Mission Continues.

"We're so proud of all the work you're doing to support your community and hope you enjoy this small token of our appreciation.
"Thank you for your service - today and every day. We look forward to joining you soon! Stay safe, and keep up the great work."

The Duke and Duchess remain committed to supporting veterans, visiting a cemetery in Los Angeles on Remembrance Day in 2020 and laying flowers on the graves of fallen soldiers.
The couple has launched their charitable foundation Archewell, and the postponed Invictus Games, during which veterans compete in various sports, are scheduled to take place in The Hague in 2020 on May 29.
