Mystery surrounds 'secret' visit by Doria to see Meghan while Harry is away

When images of Prince Harry arriving in Africa for a two-day visit without Meghan beamed around the world, many wondered where the Duchess of Sussex was.

One month after the couple's mammoth tour of Australia and the Pacific, Harry's diary always had him scheduled to visit Zambia.

Meghan, it is believed, was never expected to attend but rather stay in the UK where she's no doubt being kept busy with preparations for the birth of her first child.

There were reports Meghan chose to remain the UK because her mother, Doria, was visiting from Los Angeles.

However, it's now been claimed Doria never travelled to London but instead remains in the US.

In the past, Doria has used the super exclusive Private Suite terminal to travel to the UK undetected by the paparazzi, so it's hard to say with certainty how frequently she visits Meghan.  

She is expected to travel abroad in the coming weeks to celebrate Christmas with Meghan and Harry – and if rumours are true, she may even join the Queen at Sandringham.

The Duchess is due to give birth around April and it's expected she will remain grounded, unable to fly in the later stages of her pregnancy.

Doria, who is a yoga instructor, is expected to spend a lot of time at Harry and Meghan's new home, Frogmore Cottage, within the Windsor Home Park. There are even suggestions Doria may be getting a room of her own at Frogmore Cottage to help raise baby Sussex.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are due to move in early next year when renovations are complete. The property is currently being used to house staff and the overhaul will include 10 bedrooms, a gym, spa and a nursery.

It's a big change from the two-bedroom Nottingham Cottage the couple are currently calling home within Kensington Palace.
