Harry and Meghan’s move has nothing to do with sibling rivalry

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are moving out of Kensington Palace and it’s got nothing to do with the reported ‘tension’ between him and brother William.

Or any so-called rivalry between the Duchess of Sussex and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.

The newlyweds are instead leaving their marital home and into Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor estate as they prepare to welcome their first child together.

It makes sense to move from their two-bedroom place to a 10-room mansion especially with a little one on the way.

But it’s also believed both the Sussex’s want a wing at their next home for Doria Ragland, 62, who aims to be a very hands on grandmother with her first grandchild according to The Sunday Mirror.

“With a baby on the way, there wasn’t the option of the Duke and Duchess staying at the palace as Nottingham Cottage is tiny and none of the bigger apartments is available,” a source explained.

“Doria will be staying with them for quite long periods and they need a larger place.”

Frogmore Cottage was a gift from The Queen to Harry and Meghan and they’ve already started to create some very special memories there.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had their engagement photos taken on the property and also held their wedding reception there in May.

“Frogmore Cottage isn’t massive but it’s certainly big enough for Doria to have a separate area there,” said the royal source.

The estate has a gym, nursery, spa and yoga studio along with plenty of rooms for the couple, their baby and any visitors and currently undergoing a multi-million-dollar refurbishment.

The upgrade has reportedly been approved by the Queen and should be finished by the time baby Sussex is born.

Prince Harry and Meghan announced they were expecting their first child together last month as they kicked off their tour of Australia and the pacific.
