Plans 'close to being finalised' for Donald Trump's official visit to the UK in September
US President Donald Trump is reportedly set to pay the British royal family a visit.
This coming September, Trump is expected to head across the pond to reaffirm his country's relationship with the United Kingdom in the wake of his trade wars.
After reportedly discussing with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer over the phone, plans for the president and first lady Melania Trump to make the journey to Windsor Castle are almost finalised.

The Telegraph reports the UK Government has presented the the White House with several options in terms of a date for the president to visit, including in June, July and August, however all were declined by Trump.
Now, it's reported he has approved a visit for September, with exact dates and details still to be decided.
Earlier this year during a visit to the White House, Starmer presented Trump with a letter from the King inviting him to the UK.

Where tradition is for second-term US presidents to be invited to Windsor Castle for lunch or tea, the monarch's letter instead proposed a second state visit (following on from Trump's first state visit in 2019) at either Dumfries House or Balmoral, both in Scotland.
"As you will know this is unprecedented by a US president," the letter read.
"That is why I would find it helpful for us to be able to discuss, together, a range of options for location and programme content."

However, Trump reportedly denied the invitation, instead asking for a more extravagant visit to Windsor Castle, where he enjoyed a cup of tea and inspected the guard alongside the late Queen in 2018.
Since the Prince and Princess of Wales live in walking distance from the castle, it's expected Prince William will be involved in hosting duties, with Kate possibly at his side if she is well enough.
