Albanian prince introduces new girlfriend months after shock divorce news

Crown Prince Leka II of Albania has gone public with his new girlfriend, eight months after separating from wife Crown Princess Elia.

The royal stepped out with his new partner, Blerta Celibashi, at the Carpathia West Ball on Sunday.

The ball was held in support of The Queen Geraldine Foundation.

Crown Prince Leka was dressed in a white shirt and waistcoat with a black suit, while Celibashi wore a black ballgown with a pearl choker necklace.

The proud royal shared video footage from the event on Instagram.

"Gratitude to Anton Konstantin and David Alexander Jenkins for hosting and organizing a wonderful gala dinner at Carpathia West Estate," he wrote in an message translated from Albanian to English.

"An evening dedicated to strengthening ties between Albanian and American entrepreneurs, promoting cooperation and support for charitable causes."

In the video, we see the prince greeting guests with Celibashi by his side.

In a previous post, Leka shared footage of time spent with his daughter Geraldine, three.

Crown Prince Leka and Crown Prince Elia announced the end of their marriage in a statement in January. The couple had been married since 2016.

"Hello friends and well-wishers. Through this post, I officially inform you that LTM Princ Leka and Elia Zaharia have agreed to end their marriage," the English translation reads.

"Since the marriage has lost its function, they have seen the way to resolve it by mutual consent by starting the necessary legal procedures.

"Despite the trust in the institution of the family, LTM Prince Leka II believes that the values of mutual respect and understanding will form the basis of the relationship in its continuity, which will have as its motive the growth and education of LSM Princess Geraldine!!!

"The spiritual and physical well-being of the girl, LSM Princess Geraldine, will remain at the center of their attention, dedicated to ensuring a happy and safe life for Geraldine.

"LTM Princ Leka Il will not make further statements or comments and requests that the right to privacy be respected regarding this matter."
