Princess Diana's brother shares photo of 24ft Christmas tree at Althorp House

Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer has shared a picture of his very impressive Christmas tree at Althorp House, which was her family home.

The tree stands at almost seven-and-a-half metres tall and is beautifully decorated with ornaments and lights.

"A very Happy Christmas to all, from ⁦@AlthorpHouse⁩ - where the 24-foot tree dominates the Saloon," the ninth Earl Spencer, 55, posted on Twitter.

Fellow Twitter users loved the tree, commenting on how festive and grand it looks.

"Absolutely beautiful" one wrote. "Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas."

"Amazing tree!" said another. "Merry Christmas @cspencer1508 and everyone at @AlthorpHouse".

Charles, Diana's younger brother, lives on the property with his third wife, Karen, and their daughter Lady Charlotte, seven.

He also has four children from his first marriage — Lady Kitty Spencer, 28, Lady Eliza Spencer, 27, Lady Amelia Spencer, 26, Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp, 25 — and two children with his second wife — Edmund Spencer, 16 and Lady Lara Spencer, 13.

Despite not being the eldest, Viscount Althorp will inherit the property when his father passes away.

The Earl made headlines earlier in the year when he announced he would follow the rule of primogeniture, which gives the firstborn son in a family a preference to inherit family homes or estates.

The Earl himself inherited the property in 1992 when his father passed away.

As many as 20, 000 visitors come to Althorp House throughout the year, many coming to admire the house and the artwork within it.

Many come to simply pay their respects to Princess Diana, as Althorp House was her final resting place.
