Duchess of Cornwall cancels appearance at Cheltenham Festival a day after Zara and Mike Tindall attend

The Duchess of Cornwall was set to attend Cheltenham Festival on Wednesday but cancelled her appearance last minute.

Camilla chose to skip the racing event after a busy few days following her return to work after having COVID-19.

"It's understood she is trying to pace herself as she recovers from the bout of Covid-19 she had last month," Daily Express royal correspondent Richard Palmer said on Twitter.

"She had looked as if she was struggling at an engagement yesterday."

The Duchess on Monday attended the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey, alongside Prince Charles, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.

On Tuesday, Camilla visited the Irish Cultural Centre in London with the Prince of Wales to mark the centre's 25th anniversary, ahead of St Patrick's Day.

They then hosted the Governor-General of Canada and her husband at Clarence House.

Next week, the couple head to the Emerald Isle for a short royal tour to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The 74-year-old battled coronavirus in mid-February, just after Prince Charles came down with the virus for a second time and just before Queen Elizabeth battled the illness.

Camilla's cancellation comes a day after Zara and Mike Tindall attended the annual race meet, alongside Zara's brother Peter Phillips.

In a rare move, the couple shared some selfies on social media.

Zara was seen wearing a Juliette Botterill hat, a Karen Millen cape coat, Really Wild top and Theory trousers with Emmy 'Rebecca' pumps in Jet.

Princess Anne's daughter accessorised with a Lalage 'Odette Mini Palmellato' bag and Laurence Coste earrings.

Mike donned a tweed jacket over a white shirt and blue tie, with a baker boy cap.
