Serena Williams reveals she is not attending Archie's christening
Serena Williams has revealed she is not attending Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor's christening in Windsor on Saturday.
The tennis ace, who is best friends with The Duchess of Sussex, said she has Wimbledon commitments so is not able to make the intimate royal affair...and Meghan Markle is cool with that.
Speaking in the press conference after her second round win at the tournament told reporters when asked if she is going to the event: "No, I’m working on Saturday…so, she understands work."

The fact that Williams will not be attending the christening further rules her out for the role of godmother.
Williams was always considered among front-runners for the title but The Church of England requires godparents to be of the Christian faith, which the tennis star isn't.

Although, we may never find out who actually made the cut, with Prince Harry and Meghan saying they will not reveal who Archie's godparents are.
There is clearly no bad blood about any of it between the pair, with the Duchess cheering on Williams from the stands.

"Yes I knew she was there and it’s always exciting when she comes out to watch and support the tennis so I was happy," Williams admitted.
And the pair are clearly hoping their children grow up close together with Williams saying her daughter Olympia is like a "big sister" to Archie.
Williams isn't the only one skipping the christening on Saturday.
Due to prior commitments, the Queen will be missing among the 25 guests witnessing the two-month-old's introduction to the church, which will be held in the Queen's private chapel at Windsor Castle.
