Man accused over cliff death of Rhonda Casto admits he slept with her underage sister
The US man accused of killing his girlfriend by pushing her off a cliff almost a decade ago has revealed he had sex with her underage sister.
On March 16 2009, the body of Rhonda Casto was found at the bottom of a ravine along Oregon’s Eagle Creek Trail, where she had been hiking with boyfriend Steve Nichols.
Nichols, then 34, told police the 23-year-old aspiring model - with whom he had a nine-month-old daughter, Ava - had slipped and fallen to her death from a 30-metre cliff.
However, Casto’s family suspected he was involved, and he was charged with her death in 2015 before pleading guilty to the lesser charges of criminally negligent homicide and coercion last year.
