Queen Elizabeth will not abdicate for Prince Charles
Abigail Malbon
Despite recent rumours that she is planning to abdicate to make Prince Charles ‘Prince Regent’, Queen Elizabeth is said to be as dedicated to her role as monarch as she ever was.
Royal sources have rejected claims that Queen Elizabeth will step down when she reaches the age of 95 in order to let her eldest son take over as monarch. One such source told the Sunday Times:
“The Queen has always been so vehement that there will never be a regency unless she was sick to the point of being unable to perform her duties.”
