Wife of former football star discovers affair via Instagram

The wife of former British football player Patrice Evra says she found out her husband was cheating on her when she saw an Instagram photo of him with another woman at their family home.

Sandra Evra, 39, says she lost contact with her husband after he travelled from their Paris home to their second home in London for what she was told was a work trip.

Patrice then filed for divorce from Sandra on March 4, the shocked wife only learning the reason behind the move when she was shown a photo of her husband and Danish model Margaux Alexandra, 25, on Instagram, at their family home.

"That was the worst day of my life. I was devastated, distraught," she told The Sun. "I have been left paying all my credit cards and the Netflix bill. It has taken me a long time to realise what he's like (...) He has turned into a rat."

Patrice and Margaux are now reportedly engaged.

Patrice and Sandra had been together most of their lives having grown up together in France before moving to Monaco after Patrice was signed at the age of 19.

She told publication she set up a home for them and didn't work as Patrice told her that would be "embarrassing".

The couple then moved to the UK when Patrice was signed to Manchester United.

She spoke about discovering her husband had been unfaithful three years into their marriage when photos of him kissing Danielle Silvester at a hotel in Manchester surfaced in 2010.

He was then accused of having another affair in February 2013 with Playboy model Carla Howe.

Sandra says her former husband knew what he was doing by separating from her in France which she says has benefited him financially.

The couple has two children - Lenny, 15, and Maona, eight - who remain with their mother in Paris.
