The cause of death of the Oasis fan who fell to his death at a Wembley Stadium gig has been revealed.

An inquest into the death of Lee Claydon at the August 2 concert found he died after suffering what police described as "injuries consistent with a fall".

Reports at the time said the landscape gardener had fallen from the stadium's upper tier towards the end of the sell-out concert.

Lee was at the gig with his brother Aaron, and his niece and nephew.

An inquest into Lee's death was opened at Barnet Coroner's Court on Thursday by senior coroner Andrew Walker.

According to reports, the inquest heard Mr Claydon was taken to a medical centre in Wembley after the fall, where he was pronounced dead at 10.38pm.

Mr Walker said a post-mortem exam on August 6 gave the preliminary medical cause of death as "multiple bodily injuries".

Detective Inspector Aimee-Leigh Sando told the inquest: "We are reviewing all evidence including CCTV footage and surrounding evidence.

"We are looking to complete statements from significant witnesses of those present during the fall. A substantial amount of personnel came forward after we put out the media request."

She added that police could not "give a timeframe" on when the investigation into the father's death would be completed.

Mr Walker adjourned the inquest until a pre-inquest hearing on November 19.

In August Clive Claydon, 75, Lee's father, told PA News Agency, his son was "a lovely bloke, loved to be with his family - a hard-working family man, he loved his kid, looked after them really well. He had everything going for him."

At the time Clive said that his son didn't do drugs, but may have had some drinks.

"He doesn't take drugs, he may have had a couple of beers but who hadn't there, people have said horrible things but it was just an accident," Clive said, "It must have been horrific".

Clive claimed that there was beer spilt everywhere and his son had slipped, which left them with so many questions.

"Of all the thousands of people there, it had to be my son," he said.
