NSW 'Dine & Discover' vouchers expire next week: How to use them up quickly

NSW Government 'Dine & Discover' vouchers expire next week on June 30.

There are still approximately $326 million worth of them that haven't been used. Put your hands up if you are one of the many NSW residents aged 18 and over who haven't gotten around to redeeming them yet. Come on...

With the school holidays coming up and even for those who are child free, now is the perfect time to redeem them.

Use them before June 30 or just to book future activities. With each NSW eligible for $25 vouchers, it is well worth it.

The vouchers were made available during the pandemic to help boost the economy and support businesses and you can redeem them using the Service NSW app or via the Service NSW website.

All you need to access the vouchers is two proof of identity documents such as your driver's license and Medicare card or passport so grab them, sit down with your phone or computer, and redeem them right now.

Once redeemed, you'll receive QR codes for each of the $25 vouchers for use right away. If you don't think you'll use them in person before June 30 or would like to save them for school holiday activities, you can purchase tickets to eligible future activities online and redeem them at checkout.

In person, the vouchers will simply be scanned by the venue and the amount applied to the cost of whatever activity you participated in. Only one voucher can be used per activity, to help spread the benefit of the scheme to as many businesses as possible.

The NSW Government pulled together a list of eligible businesses and there's a bit of everything from dining out to the movies to purchasing takeaway, visiting wineries and many other activities.

Here are some of the most popular places to redeem them:

Movies

This is probably the easiest way to use your vouchers up, by booking movie tickets online. All movie companies take them including Events, Hoyts and Dendy.

Dining out

You can use your vouchers while dining out or you can order takeaway if you pay in store. You cannot use them for food delivery services like Uber Eats.

Pubs and clubs

The vouchers can be used at local pubs and clubs on food or shows, but you can't use them for alcohol.

Zoos

Popular NSW zoos take the vouchers including Taronga Zoo, Australian Reptile Park, Sydney Zoo and Featherdale.

Red Balloon

You can use your vouchers to book future activities at Red Balloon and similar sites. You may even book activities to give as gifts.

Live performances

There are some incredible performances playing out across NSW at the moment including theatre and live music. Ticketek is selling tickets to Ed Sheeran among many other performances and Ticketmaster has tickets to Harry Styles and much more.

Check out both websites what's playing now or you can even use the vouchers to book tickets to future shows. As long as they are redeemed by June 30, you're all good.
