Mum makes daughter send selfies to prove where she is

Like most teens, Kaelyn Demmon has tried to pull one past her parents from time to time. But guys, this isn’t her mum’s first rodeo.

The 18-year-old’s mum, Heather Steinkopf, is known to request photo evidence from her daughter of her whereabouts at any given moment, keeping Kaelyn well and truly on her toes.

Kaelyn, who lives in Ohio, recently spent the evening hanging out with her friend Stevie Holbrook watching movies. But her mum wasn’t so easily convinced, requesting a very specific selfie from the girls.

The exchange went something like this…

“Where are you?”

“Before you lie, where is your car?”

“At Stevie’s,” the teen truthfully responded.

“Send a selfie of the two of you both giving me the thumbs up!”

“With the lights on.”

The teen posted the exchange to Twitter with the caption: “I think it’s safe to say my mom doesn’t trust me.”

She later told BuzzFeed News her mum’s ‘selfie strategy’ had got her into trouble previously when she had been caught out lying.

“There’ve been times when I’ve said I’m at Stevie’s when I’m at a bonfire or something,” she said.

And it seems Steinkopf herself gets some light entertainment from the exchanges, saying: “I knew she was where she said she was but it was more fun to keep her doing different things.”

The teen was moving out to go to college next month. “She’s awesome so I’m not worried about her,” her mum said.
