Mum finds dead mouse sewn into her daughter’s school skirt

In a shock discovery, a mum has found a decomposing mouse sewn into her daughter’s school skirt.

Seven-year-old Sofia didn’t notice anything was amiss with her skirt, and mum Natalie Kirkwood only noticed something was off when she was going through her daughter’s wardrobe.

Kirkwood soon discovered the terrible odour was coming from her daughter’s school skirt.

After washing the skirt, the smell still lingered so Kirkwood decided to have a closer inspection.

Kirkwood investigated the pleats and found that one of them seemed to be stuffed.

The concerned mother-of-two decided she would have to slice the pleat open to find out what was in there.

Not sure what they would find, Kirkwood and her partner Stuart decided to film the cutting of the skirt in case they needed to use it as evidence.

Kirkwood snipped open the offending pleat, to reveal a decomposing mouse.

In the footage, Kirkwood can be heard exclaiming: “Oh my god, the smell. This is definitely a mouse.”

Disgusted, Kirkwood said that her daughter had worn this skirt many times and was just thankful it didn’t make her ill.

Kirkwood bought the skirt from an Asda store in her hometown of Dunstable, Bedfordshire in November.

The shocked mum complained to Asda and according to Mirror Online, the store directed her to keep the skirt and mouse for evidence and take it to her nearest store.

An Asda spokesperson told 9Honey: “We have begun a thorough investigation into how the mouse got into a skirt that was manufactured last summer.”
