Mum's clever photo trick baffles Reddit users

A woman has shared a photo of her daughter that makes it appear she is sinking in concrete.

In the photo, shared on Reddit, the girl is standing calmly while she looks to be submerged in concrete.

The mum posted the photo with the caption, "My daughter, where's the rest of her?! Ohh I see, do you?"

Upon closer inspection, the girl is standing on a concrete path next to a concrete wall, making it appear she is sinking.

Over 70,000 people 'liked' the post but many were clearly fooled by the optical illusion.

"I'll admit I had to come to the comments for this one and still struggled a bit," one admitted, another writing, "I am sick of seeing this because my brain can't work it out."

Some saw it immediately, with one Reddit user saying, "She is behind a wall."

Another went a step further, explaining, "Everyone who saw it just keeps saying 'there's a wall' instead of saying that the entire foreground is like an elevated plateau and she is standing behind it.

"I kept looking for a wall between the grass and the girl and it was melting my brain."

The Reddit post quickly spread onto Twitter where the conversation continued.

"Can you help me see it, I am going crazy," said one Twitter user.

"Is she sitting or standing? help...," said another.

"This is making my brain hurt...I just can't see it," wrote another frustrated woman.
