The internet really hates Mirka Federer’s Australian open outfit

Despite the fact that her husband is competing at the top level of tennis, the focus of the Australian open is currently on Roger Federer’s wife, Mirka, and her colourful jumper.

Mirka Federer, who is a former professional tennis player herself and currently helps manage her husband’s career, wore a bright jumper with a tiger emblazoned on the front. The sweater is in fact Gucci, and retails at $1975 – a fact which seems to have enraged the internet further.

People have taken to twitter, mostly to badmouth the 38 year-old for her sartorial choices.

However, once the backlash began, plenty of people jumped to Mirka’s defence. One even wrote “Her pink sweater was a lucky charm, why criticise it?”

L'amour est aveugle translates to "love is blind", which is ironic, considering all the backlash Mirka is currently receiving for something she wore.

However, some have said that Mirka could even start a new trend for colourful knitwear. Now wouldn't that be the ultimate response to haters?
