The premium price of love has been revealed, with one millionaire matchmaker sharing the intimate details behind her high-ticket invoices.

Olivia Rigg, who heads London dating agency Hamilton Rigg, has been able to charge £40,000-a-year ($AUD 71,200), as lockdown forces many lonely (and loaded) people to look for love.

The professional matchmaker claims while high-profile events like the Grand Prix or luxury ski trips have often been breeding grounds for high-society couples, due to the impact of coronavirus, many millionaires have sought her services.

"Covid has made people at every level think much more about their relationships than ever before, whether that's about finding a great relationship, bringing the spark back in or making it sexy," she told Tatler.

"In real life, everyone is too busy."

Charging £20,000 ($AUD 35,600) for a six month membership. Rigg only takes male clients, many of them coming from royalty, aristocratic backgrounds, or from the world of entertainment.

A statement on the dating sites website says: "we combine years of unique world leading experience with access to our unparalleled global community to manage the introductions and relationship development of some of the UK's most prominent individuals."

"We work with utmost discretion to help distinguished, dynamic, international men enrich their personal lives through successful and enduring relationships."

Riggs said following rigorous screening routines over video call, detailing background checks and assessments of their social media, she sets out to find their "perfect match" from a network of 500 women kept on the books.

With clients ranging in age — from 29 to 73 — Rigg explains "some [clients] are royalty, some are from big dynastic families, right through to people who are super self-made."

"The commonality is that they're all very driven, results-orientated, successful and at the top of their game."

Working with up to 20 clients at a time, Rigg describes her process as "super involved."

"It's really important to me that they respect women, that they really want a great relationship - there are people out there who might think they want a great relationship but aren't able to or don't inherently respect women," she told Tatler.

Rigg then speaks to a prospective client personally, typically assisting their "mentality."

While clients can afford her exorbitant fees, Rigg tells GQ "it's more about the value that they place on having really quality relationships, and what that means for the."

"All of my clients tend to be forward-thinking, results-orientated people. It can get a bit hairy down the line, and it's emotional, and there's lots going on – it works best if I have a really good, open, committed relationship with them. That's crucial," she said.

Rigg previously worked in the charity sector prior to establishing her agency, dedicating her time to helping the rich and notable find love outside the "dating noise" of alternative online medium.

The matchmaker told The Sunday Times, the agency can even receive a million-pound "gift" if the client ends up married.
