Meghan Markle's Madame Tussaud's wax figure has just been unveiled

As if marrying a prince isn’t enough to cement Meghan Markle’s A-list status, she has now been immortalised in the form of a Madame Tussaud’s waxwork.

The American actress, 36, has joined the ranks of various members of the Royal Family by having her likeness displayed in the famous museum.

The newest addition to Madame Tussaud's London was unveiled on Wednesday, a week and a half ahead of the Royal Wedding.

The new figures stand in front of a video wall that allows visitors to select from a variety of backdrops when posing for photos.

As always, there's plenty of attention to detail when it comes to their outfits.

By her side, the groom-to-be wears his trademark navy blue suit.

A separate figure of Markle will make its debut at Madame Tussaud's in New York later this week, marking the first time a US citizen has joined the British Royal Family.

The news of Markle's wax likeness was announced earlier this year by unofficial town crier Anthony Appleton outside Buckingham Palace.

“Edward Fuller, general manager of Madame Tussauds London, is proud to announce the imminent arrival of her royal likeness Meghan Markle."

The announcement was also displayed on a golden easel outside the palace gates, written in the style of royal birth notices.

A statement released by the popular tourist attraction says the wax likeness had been secretly in the works since Markle's engagement was announced.

"It's clear that the public has already taken Meghan to their hearts,” the press release stated.

"One half of arguably the most famous couple in the world right now she's already made her own mark as a humanitarian and role model.”

Other royals immortalised in wax include Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Prince Harry’s most recent waxwork in the London museum, unveiled ahead of his 30th birthday, wears army camouflage and stands in front of a Union Jack flag.

However, they aren't necessarily expecting her to show anytime soon.

“I understand that she’s rather busy at the moment," the woman added.
