Mary Kay Letourneau and former student Vili Fualaau break up 'for good'
Mary Kay Letourneau and husband Vili Fualaau have broken up for good, after an attempt at a reconciliation failed.
The controversial couple, who met when Letourneau was a teacher and Fualaau her 12-year-old student, initially separated in 2017.
They decided to try and repair their relationship following the split, however it has reportedly failed.

PEOPLE can confirm a legal filing with the King County Superior Court hat states the couple intends to finalise the end of their relationship.
Letourneau and Fualaau's tumultuous 22-year relationship began when they were teacher and student at a school in Washington State.
Letourneau pleaded guilty to child rape following the discovery of their affair, which occurred while she was married and Fualaau was in sixth grade.

Now that the reconciliation hasn't worked, they will move ahead with the divorce.
“They really gave it the old college try,” the source told PEOPLE.
