Meteorologist Mary Lee surprised with important question during segment
A meteorologist in the US was presenting a segment about the Northern Lights on Valentine's Day when she was surprised by a visit from her partner and his two children.
Mary Lee, who works at KPIX 5, had started her segment when two teenage girls run up to her holding red roses.
"Oh my goodness," she says as soon as she spots them.

She then sees her boyfriend Ajit Ninan coming up behind them also holding roses.
"Awww love you so much," Mary says as she embraces him.

It is then that Ajit gets down on one knee.
He says: "Mary, you are my Northern Lights. You are spectacular and beautiful. The girls adore you and I love you. I want you to be a part of my life. Will you be my forever girl and will you marry me?"

The next thing she knew Ajit was down on one knee proposing. KPIX 5
She says yes and the girls, Mirium and Madi, begin jumping up and down in delight.
Mary sat down to relive the proposal with the news anchors Len Kiese and Amanda Starrantino on KPIX 5, still wiping away tears.
They laughed over Madi asking her, "Do you like the ring?"
Mary confirms that she loves it.

Mary said yes and later spoke about the surprise moment. KPIX 5
"Sorry, just crying again," she says.
"It was just so unexpected," Mary continues. "Honestly I didn't know if it was ever going to happen. And it's so crazy because all of you were dropping hints. I totally did not get it."
She later said she is "still on a high and still in shock".
"Now we have a wedding to plan!" she added.

After the video of the proposal was shared on Twitter, Mary was overwhelmed with congratulations coming in from around the world.
"How are other people going to top that," writes one. "Cheers mate!"
"Wow that is so romantic," says another.
"Bless you, happiness, congrats," writes another.
Some say they hope the couple shares their wedding plans with the audience now they have witnessed such a special moment.
