Man goes to extraordinary lengths during marriage proposal
There's only so much planning you can do ahead of a marriage proposal. What you can't plan for are what may go wrong, and how you will react when they do.
This has been the case for one groom who, having gone to a lot of trouble to organise a perfect proposal to his girlfriend found himself tested in this way.
Scott Clyne, from Florida in the US, planned out his proposal to girlfriend Suzie Tucker, setting up a camera to capture the romantic moment, the footage later shared on TikTok @smclyne.

In the video we see the couple on the bow of a boat. The man then gets down on bended knee, holding a jewellery box containing the ring.
He is only holding it for a moment when the box slips from his hands and falls into the ocean.

Without a moment's hesitation, Clyne throws himself into the ocean to try and retrieve the ring while his shocked, almost fiancé watches on in shock.
Clyne is then seen holding up the box in triumph, having saved it from a watery grave.

The video of this incredible moment has been watched an extraordinary 8.4 million times, with many requesting a closer look at the ring which upon careful inspection, was certainly worth the effort of diving into the ocean after it.
And it seems Tucker said yes, happily posing with the ring in a more recent video.
