Man secretly 'proposes' to girlfriend for weeks before she finally says yes

A US man secretly proposed to his girlfriend weeks before she even realised, using a creative approach to popping the question.

Pennsylvania local Steven Kurtz had purchased a sparkling engagement ring for his partner Liz.

Yet before he got down on one knee and formally asked her that four-word question, he documented all the moments he had "proposed" without her knowledge.

Sharing a series of the images to Facebook, Kurtz wrote: "She said yes. Little did she know it was right next to her this whole time."

Nine of the 10 images capture Kurtz presenting his girlfriend with the ring without grabbing her attention.

One depicts Liz sleeping while the engagement ring sits above her head on a pillow, while another shows Kurtz presenting the ring as she plays golf with her back turned to him.

Liz misses the proposal again while she's busy texting on her phone and walking ahead on a stroll.

Even a romantic evening by a campfire was not enough to secure Liz's attention, as she texted while Kurtz held up the ring.

The pair finally got engaged in December 2020, with Kurtz offering the ring to Liz – whose attention was completely fixed on her fiance this time.

A photo of the moment shows a shocked Liz with her hands over her mouth, clearly unaware the diamond had been right next to her for weeks.

Kurtz's hilarious gesture proved to be a hit, attracting hundreds of kind comments from friends, family and strangers alike.

"THIS BEATS OUT ALL THE REST," wrote one user.

"Brilliant idea," shared another.

Liz followed up Kurtz's post with a sweet message, expressing her delight about spending the rest of her life with my "best friend".
