When Chandler proposed to his girlfriend he would have never expected what came next

One doting man was looking forward to surprising his girlfriend with a sweet proposal but he ended up getting the bigger surprise.

Chandler Randol dropped down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend Bri Wack during a surprise trip he had planned to the famous Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada.

Suspecting what her boyfriend had up his sleeve, Wack went about organising a surprise of her own. And it resulted in a hilariously sweet reaction that she shared on TikTok.

After the emotional moment Randol popped the question, Wack got down on one knee herself while pulling a small gift out of her bag.

"I always knew I was going to say yes," Wack told him while laughing.

"So I prepared something for this moment."

When Randol realised what the gift was the pair both burst into laughter.

He turned the gift to the camera revealing a t-shirt covered in photos of Wack and the words 'This is my fiancée' printed in capital letters across the top.

"I always knew I was going to say yes, and I knew what you were planning, so I made that in advance," Wack explained through fits of laughter.

Chandler loved the surprise declaring, "this is amazing".

A few weeks earlier, when Wack had clocked onto Chandler's proposal plans she decided to order the custom T-shirt on Etsy before their holiday.

"The inspiration to order this came to me a few weeks before we left because I thought it would be so funny to have something prepared to show him," Wack told People after the proposal.

"I knew he was going to propose because he wasn't being sneaky."

While she had an inkling this holiday would be the one, Wack wasn't 100 per cent sure when he would pop the question so she carried it with her everywhere they went.

"I was prepared to carry the shirt on my person the whole trip if need be to fit the joke, but I had a feeling that first day was when I definitely needed to have it," she said explaining that Randol had been adamant they go to Lake Louise for their first day.

"I carried it with us the whole day on our hike, up, down and around Lake Louise. We ended up hiking up and down the mountain five miles (8 kilometres) and I was a little bit worried the whole time he would look in the bag at any point or wonder why my little [bum bag] was stuffed so full because he was carrying basically all the rest of my stuff in his backpack.

"Luckily he didn't! I think he had a few other things on his mind other than looking in my [bum bag]."

Randol proposed to Wack with a custom five-stone bezel ring featuring a stunning amethyst as the centre stone.

Soon after the engagement, Wack posted a photo of herself and Randol with her new ring and Randol's new T-shirt on Instagram.

Wack told People that "people really got a kick out of it".
