Linda Nolan's sister Maureen reveals singer's cause of death: 'One battle too much'
Linda Nolan's sister Maureen has revealed the singer and actress' cause of death.
Maureen says it was pneumonia, not cancer that claimed her sister's life at age 65, proving to be a "battle too much" for Linda's immune system, which had been depleted by her health challenges.
"Our beautiful @thelindanolan left us yesterday, so much to say not sure where or if I can start, countless memories, countless laughs, and constant support when you really needed it, I am heartbroken as we all are, just so sad [heartbroken emojis]," she explained on Instagram.

"I would just like to say, to all the people out there who felt inspired by Linda, the big C didn't actually get her.
"She contracted double pneumonia over Christmas and New Year and because of her immune system it was one battle too much.
"So please keep hopeful and strong if you are suffering, she lasted nearly 20 yrs with one cancer or another, and so can you."
Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 before being told she was in remission in 2011.

The cancer then returned as secondary breast cancer. She was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2023.
Linda was part of the popular Irish family group The Nolans alongside sisters Maureen, Denise, Bernie, Anne and Coleen.
They gained fame with their hit songs I'm in the Mood for Dancing, Gotta Pull Myself Together, and Don't Make Waves.
Coleen described her sister as a "beacon of love" who could "light up any room".
"I am utterly devastated by the passing of my sister, Linda," she said on Instagram.
"Linda was a beacon of love, kindness, and strength," she continued.
"Her wit, humour and laughter was infectious, her presence could light up any room. Linda had a heart full of compassion and always knew how to bring comfort and joy to those around her."

The post concluded: "Surrounded by family, she passed peacefully. A pop icon and beacon of hope, Linda will never be forgotten ❤️"

The Nolans' manager Dermot McNamara said it was "with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Nolan".
"Over the weekend, Linda was taken by ambulance to Blackpool Victoria Hospital and admitted with double pneumonia," he said in a statement.
"In the early hours of Tuesday morning, she went into a coma and into end-of-life care, surrounded by her devoted family.
