Kellie Finlayson marks 30th birthday with poignant message amid cancer battle: 'No one thought that I would turn 30'

Kellie Finlayson has celebrated her milestone 30th birthday and reflected on everything she has gone through to get there.

The author and influencer, who is the wife of AFL star Jeremy Finlayson, 29, is battling stage 4 bowel cancer that metastasised in her lungs.

Finlayson celebrated her birthday by heading to what looked like a secluded tiny home for a weekend away with her family, revealing that at the time of her diagnosis "no one, including myself, thought that I would turn 30".

"I made it to 30!!" she wrote in a poignant Instagram post.

"Personally I was spiralling the day before, not because I didn't want to enter my 30s, I more than anyone know that aging is a privilege.

"It was more around the fact that four years ago no one, including myself, thought that I would turn 30?!"

Finlayson told her followers she has no plans to slow down anytime soon and will keep up the fight.

"But I did, I'm here, and I plan to see 40, 50 & 60 too, so hold on honeys because luckily (or unluckily I'm still deciding) you're all coming on the ride that is life with me 🤎🤎🤎🤎," she added.

In the images, she is seen tucking into some birthday cake and opening presents with her family.

"You are INCREDIBLE ❤️❤️ celebrating virtually for you! an incredible testament to your resilience & determination. You are unstoppable sista!! happy birthday xxxx," one follower commented underneath.

Last month, Finlayson marked four years since her diagnosis, sharing a moving video to mark the occasion.

"To 25 year old me.. This is a really weird anniversary to celebrate, but it's another year no one thought I'd see," she captioned her Instagram post.

"I've lost a hell of a lot but wow, all that I've gained has blown me away. 4 whole years, can't wait to post about the 5th, what a privilege. 17.11.2021."

Kellie was diagnosed with cancer in 2021, just three months after giving birth.
