A Current Affair reporter Laura Turner breaks biggest news yet

A Current Affair reporter Laura Turner has revealed one of her most exciting news stories yet.

In an Instagram post yesterday, the 34-year-old journalist announced she is expecting twins with partner Daniel McPherson.

Fellow TV presenter Peter Hitchener delivered the ‘breaking news’ in a cheeky video posted on Instagram.

In a Nine News ‘special’ an excited Hitchener revealed the baby news and congratulated the much-loved couple.

“I have some wonderful news regarding two much-loved members of the Nine News team, Laura and Dan: they are pregnant!” he said.

“Not only that, it’s twins!”

“Congratulations you two!”

Turner said she is thrilled over what is the best news of her life and opened up to 9Honey about the ultrasound.

“It was a huge surprise. When the ultrasound operator announced it was twins I thought he was playing a joke. My partner had to remind me to take a good look at the screen. This was no joke,” the journalist reveals.

“Initially I was quite scared of the daunting task ahead but I’ve come to realise I’ve had some hard times already and as a former correspondent I went through years on minimal sleep, so surely I can cope with this too.

“Dan and I are thrilled. Thank you Peter for delivering the best news of our lives.”

The news has quickly spread with a number of well-wishing fans sending their congratulations.

“Wait. What?!!! This is such awesome news!!! The little twinnies have won ‘life lotto’ with you as their parents! Congrats. X,” one excited commenter posted to Instagram.

“OMG THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER!!!!!!!! Absolutely thrilled for you both!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️” another enthusiastic user wrote.

We’re wishing the happy couple a big congrats and can’t wait to see their bub arrive.
